A Year in Review | Family 2022

We began and ended our year at my brother’s home in the midwest. A gift that I can only hope to continue, because that time is always worthwhile and cherished beyond measure. Like most years feel, I look back and wonder if I hurried too much. Could I have been more present and mindful? Maybe so, but photos tell me I did okay. The quiet stolen moments with my husband, the precious giggles and milestones with our children, and the places we went together that left indelible marks on us all. There was also a lot of change for our family, a lot of adventures and travel, our first true vacation, and simple togetherness. It’s hard to summarize an entire year of your life, but as I look back on these photos, I’m reminded of why I continue to pick up my camera, why our constant need to explore is worthwhile, and how we will allow that to shape the years ahead. I’m not just a photography by job, but also because I love to capture life and beauty around me. I want to see and share all that makes us complex and interesting, not just the one thing that I get paid for. Time is so beautiful and fleeting and my goal remains to capture the moments in between that are ours alone. It isn’t the perfect pose or most amazing destination that I hold close, it’s the laughter, family snuggles, long car rides, singing together, late night card games, not forgetting our traditional family pizza night.

Thank you all for your support and love. Next up, the beautiful families I had the pleasure of working with in 2022.

Cheers to a new year!
